**What you will do as the Front of House Lead**

As the Front of House Lead, you’ll have an impact on your team and The Market as a whole as well as hundreds of people in your community each week. Your goal is to ensure grocery inventory is ordered, inventory is up-to-date, price integrity is up to date and that the cashier team is scheduled and taken care of.

This takes time and great attention to detail.

This is both an administrative role for someone who understands ordering and inventory practices, retail and customer service.

- At least two years in a similar role with similar responsibilities
- You must be able to budget or keep tight ordering practices
- You must be able to step in to cover for your team when needed
- You are able to schedule around multiple people
- You understand margins and how to ensure food sells quickly
- You must be able to understand the impact that food has on people
- You must be able to cash people out properly and quickly and balance tills at the end of the night
- You must understand the importance of thorough product knowledge

**Core Job Responsibilities**

As a Market & Smør Front of House Lead, you’ll be on your feet, accepting deliveries, organizing, overseeing inventory and also meeting the needs of your cashier team. You will be responsible for:

- Overseeing budget and administrative duties.
- Ordering grocery from multiple suppliers in a timely manner.
- Organizing inventory.
- Delegation of your team to ensure success
- Overseeing your budget and ensuring it is inline with the larger financial practices.
- Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
- Memorizes top 40 PLUs and uses them properly.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
- Processes return transactions.
- Follows through on Opening and Closing List with efficiency and completely
- Ensures tags are in good shape and prices are correct.
- Delegate and manage others well.
- Is clear with communication and follows instructions.
- Works with other departments to ensure proper sale prices are communicated on a daily basis.
- Think quickly on the spot to fix problems.
- Provides pricing information by answering questions.
- Memorizes The Welcome and walks new customers through The Market with it.
- Utilizes and teaches First In, First Out (FIFO) systems.
- Stocks items efficiently and effectively minimizing waste
- Takes pride in product knowledge, community partners that we work with and can communicate this with customers effectively.

**Working conditions**

This is a retail environment. There are many hours standing on your feet while being customer-facing.

There are many hours in front of a computer.

**Physical requirements**

When accepting orders, you will be required to lift cold, frozen or dry stock to their appropriate spots.

Regularly required to walk or stand;
Regularly lift and/or move up to 23kg (50lbs.);
Will be required to perform tasks involving firm grasping;
Occasionally be required to bend, twist or squat.

Will be involved in frequent repetitive hand actions.

Will be required to reach above shoulder height and below waist level.

Will need to carry items up and down stairs.
