**Position: Forklift Operator**

**Shift: Sunday and Friday (2am to 12pm)**

**Wage**:$20.00

**OVERALL PURPOSE**:
To participate in the safe, accurate and timely truck loading/unloading & check-in scanning of 3rd party freight to meet DHL on-time performance standards.

**MAJOR ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Operate forklift to load/unload freight safely and efficiently into/out of trucks and ULDs
- Check-in freight from 3rd party deliveries and place on conveyor system for Exports
- Timely collection & delivery of DGs by deadlines to DG Processing area
- Timely collection & delivery of NCYs by deadlines to NCY Processing area & NCY reload
- Maintain excellent organization of all inbound/outbound freight at truck docks
- Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
- Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area
- Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment
- Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor

**ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESULTS**:

- 100% scanning and loading/unloading accuracy to minimize missorts
- Meet company productivity targets
- Responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction
- Handle shipments with forklift in a manner that minimizes damage
- Shipment handling complies 100% with Transport of Dangerous Goods requirements
- Follow policy and procedures as outlined by shift Supervisor
- Maintain a secure and safe working environment for all staff
- Comply with Collective Agreement
- Alert operations management of service issues immediately as they occur

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift
- Ability to move freight safely with forklift
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
- **Forklift certificateor willingness to do so within 30 days required**:

- **Ability to meet Transport Canada Air Cargo Security requirements**

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
Often fatiguing or uncomfortable - hot or cold warehouse environment dependent upon season. The job might often require concentrated levels of attention and physical activity. Tension and time constraints may be an on-going aspect of the job.

**ONBOARDING & TRAINING**:
All applicants are**required**to pass interviews, a criminal background check in order to qualify for the position. Must be minimum 18 years if age to undergo prerequisite background checks.
