**The Role**:
Under the supervision of the Service Manager, a Service Writer will be the first point of contact to welcome customers and gather information required to identify their vehicle repair and maintenance work they require. The Service Writer will open repair orders (RO’s), take customer information and relay paper flow through the department to the Service Advisors. The Service Writer may be required to sell maintenance services, while maintaining exceptional customer service and rapport. The Service Writer must have an innate ability to multi-task while providing a high degree of quality customer service internally and externally. Building Customer loyalty and trust in this dealership is essential. You will be required to act as a liaison between the customer, Service, Parts and Sales Departments.

**Service Orders - 100% of your time is spent here**
- Obtain as much information about the customer and vehicle data upon their arrival.
- Open Repair Orders using the dealer management system (Proceed)
- Inform the customer of all promotions and services provided by the dealership, including Parts and New Truck Sales.
- Verify the customer’s method of payment before the required repairs begin. Direct them to the Credit department to arrange credit approval, if necessary.
- Ensure accuracy of customer data in our computer system.
- Obtain, verify and double check that you have the correct truck/vehicle serial/VIN number, mileage, company, contact names and phone numbers on all required documents.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Experience**
- Outstanding customer service skills (mandatory)
- Experience in the heavy duty trucks or automotive, especially with Commercial Vehicle experience
- Basic understanding and ability to operate a computer including Microsoft Office programs and internal programs
- Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely
- Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public

**Education/Certification**
- High School Diploma with Post secondary Education related to business operations.

**Work Schedule: 8 hours per day**

**Operational hours**:
**Monday - Friday / Tuesday - Saturday**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
