**As Venture General Manager you will**:

- Lead cross-functional teams to source, identify, research and rapidly validate new venture concepts
- Identify the optimal path to validate and build new ventures (in-market pilots or POCs, build/buy/partner investigation, building from 0 to 1)
- Build investment cases and generate buy-in for venture investment (capital, resources, and ability to unlock unfair advantage within portfolio company partners)
- Navigate complex stakeholders to get overall buy-in and alignment throughout the venture process (from idea to launch and beyond)
- Build a strong cross-functional venture team culture that fosters psychological safety, a builder-mindset and a culture of rapid experimentation
- Drive strategic, early-stage venture decisions and guide the venture team from 0 to commercial launch
- Effectively guide and define the team through the process of validating and de-risking the venture as you work from opportunity identification through to setting it on a path to product-market-fit
- Define a business and go-to-market strategy that drives toward hitting critical commercialization milestones
- Be scrappy and operate like a founder. We build businesses in small, cross-functional venture teams; this means you’ll need to be able to jump between the strategic and the operational on a regular basis
- Stand up new businesses from 0-1, including defining governance, business models, customer operations, and business operations to support the launch and growth of new businesses.
- Identify, attract and onboard the right talent to take the business forward post launch
- Cross-pollinate good practices and insights between multiple ventures to drive continuous improvement of our Venture building methodology and playbooks.
- Identify opportunities to support our portfolio of launched ventures at critical milestones in their growth path

**You will bring**:

- 10+ years of significant leadership, as a founder or with senior strategy and operational responsibilities at early stage, high growth, venture-backed or corporate-funded startups.
- Operational excellence in setting up processes that can be scrappy early on, but consider future scale
- A high level of comfort with ambiguity, with a strong background in using data, market research and user research insights to make calculated bets in new spaces
- Ability to gain a deep understanding of any industry and market you are operating in
- Familiarity across all operational aspects of a startup: product, marketing, customer success and support, Business operations (HR, finance/accounting, legal/compliance, IT, and facilities) - with a strong background operating in one or more of these areas
- A track record of building successful startup teams
- A proven track record as an effective player-coach. Your leadership and coaching strengths are enhanced by your desire to both lead and roll up your sleeves to get stuff done.
- Exceptional people management skills to attract, motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional senior stakeholder management skills across functions and external partners.
- Professional, flexible and effective communication skills that can easily pivot from the team room to the board room.
- Strong skills that foster and promote an open and collaborative environment.
- An ability to embrace and reduce uncertainty through continual validated learning.
- Full P&L ownership and Go To Market strategy including ability to market-size, forecast, and model out a new business
