**BUSINESS JOURNALIST**

Onward Media Group is a digital storytelling agency that helps organizations find and share stories that connect with their customers, team members, stakeholders and investors. We looking for a passionate storyteller to find, create and help distribute local business and community stories that highlight professional excellence, innovation and leadership.

Responsibility

This contract role will empower the Journalist to dive into the local Kitchener-Waterloo community and find business stories that showcase executives and business leaders and their products and services.

Once stories are found the Journalist will efficiently work with a cinematographer to create video and possibly other multimedia content. The Journalist will ask the right questions and coach the leader and team to be at their best on camera. Once the video is uploaded to our servers, the Journalist will work with an automatically generated transcription to highlight key moments from the interview to be used for videos. At that point the editors will take over and create the content on that basis.

Videos will be created immediately with impressive efficiency and the interviewee will approve the videos before publicly distributing.

If you are the right fit on a contract basis, we expect to hire this journalist on a full time basis in the coming months.

**Qualifications**:

- Curious and eager to gather quality information.
- A people person. Comfortable meeting new people and helping others feel comfortable with you.
- Team player that is eager to add value.
- Efficient communicator, able to move gracefully in unique environments.
- Can direct a set and help create ideal shots that tell an in-depth, emotionally driven story.
- Video editing skills are an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8-16 per week

**Salary**: From $300.00 per day

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- journalism: 1 year (preferred)
