**What can you expect?**

The Health & Benefits Principal will lead consulting engagements with employers regarding their medical, dental, life, disability benefit plans and programs. This role will also negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage for these employers. You will also have the opportunity to lead business development initiatives.

**We will count on you to**:

- Lead client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies
- Develop benefits design and renewal strategies and driving the development of tools and solutions to address client issues
- Effectively communicate Mercer's position on latest industry trends to clients
- Be accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects
- Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and by leading prospecting efforts with new clients
- Set strategic direction that creates demand for new products/services in the marketplace

**What you need to have**:

- BA/BS degree
- At least 8 years’ experience in the health and benefits field

- The ability to develop relationships with clients, colleagues, prospects and providers
- Sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully
