**Job Summary**

The Advisor, Talent Management serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by participating in HR initiatives across the Association with a focus on recruitment, workforce planning, certification tracking, compliance, culture, and continuous improvement. The main goals of this position are:
1. Elevate and enhance HR policies, guidelines, programs, and practices within the Association.

2. Develop and champion people strategies, that are aligned with the strategic plan, to help shape and enhance the employee experience and overall culture of the Association in pursuit of being recognized as an employer of choice.

3. Build strong relationships to strategically partner with all departments across the Association to assist and advise leaders with HR issues and questions.

**Nature & Scope**

The Advisor, Talent Management will be responsible for supporting the People and Culture team and working with supervisors across the Association for all HR related matters including but not limited to recruitment, certification tracking, and workforce planning. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Exemplify the YMCA of Lethbridge’s Core Values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of goals and objectives across the Association.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, responding to general inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner and in accordance with Association policies and guidelines.
- Be a YMCA ambassador by engaging in and promoting practices and frameworks which centre diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, incident management and emergency response.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs or requests and provide detailed, specialized information, explanations and interpretations requiring significant judgement and tact.

Organizational and Department Management
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of Association policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate the hiring and onboarding process including reference and background checks, following up on required certifications and proof thereof, drafting offer letters, new employee inquiries, and preparing new hire packages.
- Carry out tasks requiring significant mental concentration and the use of analytical methods and processes regularly.
- Mentor and model best practices, setting high standards for excellence in execution.
- Work independently on diversified tasks, following policies, guidelines, and legislation.
- Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites and maintaining rapport.
- Prepare reports using data analytics to proactively identify trends and build action plans.
- Facilitate New Employee and Volunteer Association training and Respectful workplace training when required, performing regular reviews of the content and delivery to improve the employee experience.
- Identify and evaluate risks to the Association’s people while implementing measures to mitigate risk.
- Review and provide recommendations on professional and legislatively accurate content that is engaging and informative.
- Facilitate lunch and learn educational sessions for employees and supervisors.
- Attend recruitment fairs, career fairs, and other events to support in attracting and retaining talent.
