**Summer Internship - Compliance Data Analyst**:

Ontario One Call acts as the communications link between buried infrastructure owners (our members) and individuals who are planning to dig in the province of Ontario. In 2012, the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act was passed, which stipulates that by law, anyone in the province of Ontario must contact Ontario One Call before they dig. In addition to our contact centre, we are also responsible for public education, industry outreach, and compliance.

As a service oriented regulator, Ontario One Call is focused on guiding construction, infrastructure and excavation industries towards creating efficiencies and improvements across the province. **Opportunity**:
**Compliance Data Analyst**:
The Compliance Data Analyst supports the Ontario One Call Compliance Team by building, gathering, and preparing inquisitive and strategy-oriented reports. Conduct research and comparison activities through best practice survey and studies. Analyze and interpret raw data that adds value to the team. Working with the Compliance Team to identify trends that would help Ontario One Call’s membership and stakeholders (excavators) become more compliant with the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, By-Laws, and Regulations.

Reporting to the Director of Compliance, this position is located at our head office at 104 Cooper Drive in Guelph, Ontario.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for managing compliance data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
- Developing reports and troubleshooting data issues
- Provide information to members regarding non-compliance
- Collaborate with the IT Team and full-time, permanent Data Analysts in the development of reports
- Processing confidential data and adhering to strict deadlines
- Helping develop a reporting dashboard/reports in a new enforcement software
- Training end-users on the new reports and dashboard for the new enforcement software
- Build, gather and prepare inquisitive and strategy-oriented reports
- Analyze and interpret raw data and present it to the Compliance Team
- Work with the Compliance Team to identify trends that would help the Ontario One Call membership and stakeholders (excavators) become more compliant
- Assist the Compliance, legal counsel, Communications, and Government Relations teams in preparing reports, data, and statistics
- Support compliance activities and special projects, as required
- Assist the Training & Education Team to extract and manage data from a learning management software
- Assist the Communications Team with the planning and development of communications to members, excavators and stakeholders as it relates to compliance
- Research to compare Ontario One Call to other jurisdictions through best practice survey/study
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Actively enrolled in a, or graduate from, post-secondary education in compliance, regulatory, law, paralegal, business administration, or related program
- Good analytical, research and problem-solving skills to gather evidence and information to support the Compliance Team
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize projects
- Strong time management, ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment with priorities constantly changing
- Ability to work independently as well as participate and function effectively on a team
- Strong communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences
- Excellent computer skills, proficiency with MS Office Suite products and ability to learn new software would be a great asset
