Optometric Assistant

Dr. Patricia Fink Optometrist and Associates is looking to add an Optometric staff to our busy Optometry practice in Burlington, Ontario. You will be have the opportunity to learn to:

- Assist in Optical Boutique, choosing frames and taking measurements.
- Reception and repairing glasses as needed.
- Lab work edging lenses.
- Contact Lens teaching
- Greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner and explaining initial pre-exam procedures.
- Review patient’s previous eye exam to determine any necessary follow-up procedures.
- Assess patient’s current concerns for eye exam and document on file.
- Perform repairs and lab work for eyeglasses.
- Perform additional testing at Doctors request.
- Assist Optometrists in any extra duties.
- General office clean-up on assigned days.

- Ability to handle competing priorities and can multitask in a fast paced environment
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills, and can work well under pressure in a calm and effective manner
- Helpful, outgoing, team player who enjoys taking initiative
- Completion of high school education

Must be available during our weekly office hours:

- Monday/Thursday/Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Tuesday/Wednesday from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
- Saturday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
