**Job description**
Flowlink Environmental is offering an immediate opportunity for a junior level Environmental Field Technician. The Environmental Field Technician reports to the Field Services Manager. A desire to learn and grow is important. The field work is performed primarily outdoors and expected to include regular travel to and from project sites. Training will be provided on the job. You will often work independently on field projects and reporting, with support from the team.
**Specific job duties include but are not limited to**:
- Field work including maintenance of the real-time water quality monitoring equipment with travel to the installation sites in the Lower Mainland. Occasional fieldwork outside the Lower Mainland is anticipated. Working environments include but are not limited to natural streams, construction sites, and industrial facilities.
- Use of specialized field equipment and software.
- Completion of QA documentation and chain-of-custody forms.
- Development of new or improvement of existing Quality Assurance processes with support from the team.
- Adherence to the Health and Safety program, Standard Operating Procedures, team communication processes, basic administrative works, and related support.
- You have a genuine interest in environmental conservation and a desire to make a positive impact.
- You are self-motivated and able to work independently.
- You are comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and able to manage your time effectively to meet set targets.
- You are meticulous in following standard operating procedures and paying attention to details.
- You are a strong communicator and able to report findings effectively to team members and clients. You are also able to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure consistency in our service quality and processes.
- You are safety-conscious and able to follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourselves and others.
- You are committed to quality in everything you do.
- You enjoy working with technology.
**Qualifications**
This role is considered a junior position within the organization, and comprehensive training will be provided; however, the minimum qualifications are:
- Post-secondary graduate: diploma, certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, or a relevant field of study, for example Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Technology, Agrology, Geology, Engineering, etc.;
- Excellent computer-based skills;
- A professional attitude in written and oral communications with clients and colleagues;
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a good driving record, including own vehicle;
- Eligibility for professional certification is an asset.
