**Evening Shift from 2:55 pm to 11:00 pm (Monday to Friday) - $15.80 per hour (plus $0.75 shift premium)**

**Midnight Shift from 10:55 pm to 7:00 am (Sunday to Thursday) - $15.80 per hour (plus $1.25 shift premium)**

**General Duties**

Reporting to the Cell Leader, this position has overall responsibility for all production related tasks within Melet Plastics. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Operating/tending of molding machines in a safe and productive manner.

2. Must read and refer to the Quality sheet, good and bad samples and all other relative instructions. Most perform part inspection during the molding process. Sign inspection sheet to ensure proper visual inspections have been done every ½ hour. Document Test results (if applicable) if at any time you do not understand the Quality sheet or if it does not seem clear, please call your Cell Leader immediately.

3. Ensure rejects are being recorded onto inspection sheets. All rejects must be discarded into either the white bins (for clean parts) and the grey bins (for dirty parts).

4. Package parts as per work instructions, ensuring all proper labeling is in place and name is clearly printed.

5. Communicate with on-coming Machine Tender (i.e.: special instructions, part, mold and machine performance).

6. Maintain cleanliness at work area(s) throughout shift and perform required end of shift cleanup (5 S system for workplace organization and cleanliness).

7. Notify Supervisor/ Technician, Lead or Cell Leader of any unusual events during the molding process (i.e. mold not producing correct number of cavities, cosmetic defects, dimensional discrepancies, out of ordinary noises from the molding machines or auxiliary equipment, etc.).

8. Provide general assistance to other employees as required.

9. Perform rework/ secondary operations as assigned by the Cell Leader, and ensure you are meeting targets as per BOM.

10. Participate on, or work with the Continuous Improvement Teams (provide

ideas to continuously improve processes).

11. Rectify any safety issues and if not able to do so immediately inform Shift Lead or Supervisor. IE: Broken Skids, skids on the side, blocked fire exits, blocked fire extinguishers, water puddles, low or out of safety supplies etc. etc. etc.

12. Other duties as assigned.

**Tasks and/or Duties which may be required on a constant and consistent basis, include, but are not limited to**:

- Clipping parts from runners, involving wrist and hand movement.
- Bending at the waist and knees.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Walking
- Visual, detailed inspection of parts for an extended period of time.
- Trimming parts.
- Stacking of parts.

**General Qualifications Required**:

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Understanding of basic mathematics.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments (e.g. calipers, dial indicators).
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Can differentiate colours.
