**Job Description**:
AECOM is actively seeking an **Environmental Scientist **to join our growing Environmental Remediation team in Markham, ON.

This position is a **full-time **role.

**Job Description**:

- Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with mínimal direction.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
- Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
- Plans and organizes project studies.
- Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
- May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline - Civil, Environmental, etc.
- 6+ years of experience in Environmental Remediation including Phase II ESA and soil and groundwater remediation technologies.
- Valid Certified Environmental Technologist (CET) designation or Association of Professional Geoscientists (APGO) Certification (Ontario) or, Professional Engineer (P. Eng).
- Experience with remediation contractors and construction oversight.
- Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years project management experience in environmental remediation including drilling, large scale excavations and other remedial field activities.
- Thorough knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Thorough understanding of remediation processes, instrumentation and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead large assignments and work well in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of environmental, health & safety regulations.
