**What do our Aquatic Biologist's do?**

**Functions include, but are not limited to the following**:

- Conduct various aquatic vegetation/water quality surveys with guidance from management.
- Use GPS units and light use of Geographic Information System (GIS) software to map out management areas.
- Collect data and produce management reports under supervision.
- Actively participate in the planning of future water body management programs under supervision.
- Responsible for client correspondence to a small client portfolio.
- Work with experienced biologists to gain knowledge regarding all aspects of water body management.

**What do you need?**
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or equivalent field - Preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in similar field
- Comfortable around water and aquatic vessels
- Ability to swim
- Knowledge of aquatic vegetation (preferred)
- Aptitude in using various biological tools (preferred)
- Ability to trailer/drive a boat (preferred)
- GIS experience (preferred)
- Use of GPS software including garmin and trimble (preferred)
- Knowledge of small motors (preferred)
- Experience with point intercept and rake toss methodology (preferred)
- The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach and feel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass pre-employment background screen
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass motor vehicle record search
