Job Overview:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the paving crew to perform hot asphalt work efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure proper asphalt raking techniques are executed by both yourself and the junior raker.
- Maintain a safe and tidy job site by managing materials, storing tools and equipment appropriately, and securing the job site daily.
- Operate skid-steer and rollers to assist in the completion of paving projects, as needed.
- Transport materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.
- Operate a range of hand and power tools effectively.
- Load and unload construction supplies from trailers.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Keep equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Safely sort, stack, and band products, and secure equipment in trucks.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in asphalt raking.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capacity to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Proficiency in spoken and comprehensible English.
- 2 years of experience in skid-steer operation is preferred.
- Excellent physical condition, as the job involves heavy lifting, repetitive bending, kneeling, crouching, and working long hours.
- Flexibility to work on weekdays and weekends.
