Windsor, Canada Children First Full time

Reporting to the Senior Clinical Manager, the Intake Team Supervisor is responsible for supervising a multidisciplinary team of professionals in keeping with the mission, vision, and values of Children First.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead team meetings and provide regular reflective clinical and administrative supervision to individual team members.
- Provide direction and support to team members in complex and high-risk situations. - Ensure that services are provided in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and protocols and in keeping with current evidence-informed and best practices.
- Participate in the hiring of employees.
- Supervise and coordinate the orientation of new employees, complete probationary performance appraisals, and make recommendations regarding suitability for ongoing employment.
- Monitor and manage ongoing work performance of team members, complete annual performance appraisals, and develop individual work plans for team members as warranted to promote optimum performance.
- Participate and contribute as a member of the management and clinical management teams.
- Manage waitlists, identify priorities, and assign families to team members.
- Monitor and report relevant service stream data and participate in program evaluation and review as appropriate.
- Respond to and manage concerns and complaints related to their team from employees, families, and community partners.
- Participate on external committees and collaborate with community service partners to provide agency representation and input. Facilitate community training and presentations. Participate on internal committees and lead and manage agency projects and initiatives.
- Provide short-term services to children and families where a need is determined by the agency.
- Stay informed and up to date about research, trends, and developments in respect to the early intervention field and share such information with staff and the agency.
- Support adherence to relevant legislation, Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA) standards and program guidelines.
- Carry out other duties as may be from time to time assigned.
- Follow the outlined rules and regulations of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and promote and practice safe working conditions to avoid potential injury or harm to self, any employee or child/family in receipt of services. As a supervisor, take every precaution reasonable to protect workers, including ensuring workers work in compliance with the OHSA, follow all health and safety policies and use any personal protective equipment required by the employer.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a minimum of four years of experience working in a community-based model with families and young children with special needs.
- Supervisory or management training and experience.
- Excellent understanding of typical and atypical child development, including social emotional and mental health needs and family systems.
- Ability to encourage and support individual staff development and competence.  Ability to provide effective leadership to individuals and groups.  Excellent human relations, mediation, and conflict resolution skills 
- Knowledge of legislation related to agency services and employment. 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of data collection, analysis, program evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
- Proficiency in French or other languages is an asset.

Hours of Work: 35 hours/week. The agency’s regular hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to meet service needs.
