**Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist - Perinatal Mental Health and Couples Counselling**
**Location: Hamilton, Ontario (In-person and Virtual)**
**Type: Independent Contractor Position**
**Responsibilities**:
**Perinatal Mental Health Services**:
- Provide individual psychotherapy to support individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges including but not limited to: birth trauma, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, relationship stress, overwhelm, hopelessness, worry, anger, grief, identity changes, parenting roles and expectations arising from the perinatal transition.
- Conduct assessments and develop customized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
**Couples Counselling**:
- Facilitate couples counselling sessions to address relationship challenges and enhance communication.
- Assist couples in navigating the transitions associated with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
- Collaborate with couples to establish therapeutic goals and objectives.
**Qualifications**:
- Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Extensive training and experience in perinatal mental health and couples counselling.
- Expertise in a variety of therapeutic models such as CBT; DBT; EFT; IFS; EMDR; ACT; Gottman Method.
- Open to receive training to facilitate walk-and-talk therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable with in-person and virtual therapy modalities.
**Requirements**:
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
- Access to a secure and private environment for virtual sessions.
- All remote work necessities, including excellent internet connection, a designated professional workspace and backdrop, and a reliable computer, ability to trouble-shoot technology.
- Adherence to ethical guidelines and standards of practice including timely documentation and completion of client billing.
