Squamish, Canada Tri City Group of Companies Full time

We are looking for a writer/journalist to manage our public relations in Squamish. And possibly community engagement at the same time. You might have an interest in one or the other or both.

We are in the process of getting approvals for an 82-lot equestrian community in the Upper Paradise Valley and we are having problems with the District of Squamish. Our property was zoned in 2012 and the District is now attempting to take away our zoning after doing a gigantic amount of work on the project since 2021. In fact, they told us they would not take away the zoning if we applied for particular permits by 11th of March, 24 but are not reneging on that written statement.

The writer we work with will help us to raise public awareness about how the District is not dealing fairly.
If you believed the community engagement role fitted what you wanted to do, you would journey to Squamish and build our community engagement strategy. At the same time, we are trying to build a wildfire-fighting capacity in Paradise Valley and on the Cheekye reserve working hand and glove with Squamish Natives whom we have a close relationship.
We want to promote that effort as well. In summary, we need help with newspaper articles, social media, going to the farmers market and telling people about the wildfire project and going door to door in some specific location. The role of community relations could be split from journalism and press releases.

Pay will be commensurate with experience.
Travel expenses will be covered.
We thank you in advance for your interest in the position.
Address your response to: Michael Goodman | Chairman, Tri City Group of Companies Suite 350 - 1201 West Pender Street Vancouver, B.C. V6E 2V2

**Job Types**: Casual, Freelance

**Salary**: $16.75-$44.19 per hour

Schedule:
