**Role Responsibilities**:
The Monitoring and Compliance Branch within TEC is looking to hire a Team Lead, Medical Fitness to join their busy team in Edmonton. If you are looking for a challenging yet exciting opportunity, look no further and apply

Reporting to the Manager, Driver Monitoring, the Team Lead, Medical Fitness provides first-line supervision to specific members of the Driver Monitoring Section. This position will be responsible for providing direction, coaching, training and appraising performance of Reviewing Officers as well as quality assurance, quality control and continual enhancement of provincial driver fitness and monitoring model, specifically in relation to the driver medical fitness program.

This position will also provide policy and program expertise to support the refinement of the governance structure, including conducting program reviews and policy development. The Team Lead will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and revise legislation, policy and other governance and process documents.

The main responsibilities for the Team Lead, Medical Fitness are (but not limited to):

- Identify program deficiencies and inconsistencies, takes actions to address them through appropriate channels
- Help create and maintain a positive work environment for the team
- Implements operational targets to optimize the functioning of the program and utilizes these targets as performance indicators for staff
- Provide support to program development and review
- Hold presentations to the public (clients, physicians and other interest groups) to represent TEC and explain the functioning of the program
- Support the effective functioning of the Medical Review Committee.
- Provides support where required to ensure smooth functioning of the Driver Monitoring Section

**Required**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Arts, Business, Health or related field supplemented by 4 years of progressively responsible experience with program operations and development and motor vehicle services

**Equivalency**:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Assets**:

- Experience with supervising staff.
- Working knowledge of the provincial legislation as it related to traffic safety issues in Alberta.
- Knowledge of computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office, as well as knowledge of client management systems, such as ARTS, ROADS/MOVES, Client Management Tool (CMT), and Kofax
- Working knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of traffic safety policies and guidelines.
