Good Bread is a new and exciting Artisan Bread bakery supplying both wholesale and retail breads, pastries, and desserts. We're seeking a well-rounded, energetic, growth-minded experienced Technical Baker with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our team

As a Technical Baker at Good Bread, you will.
- Meet daily production requirements, to meet the needs of the deadlines.
- Possess experience and commitment to follow Good Bread’s system for bread baking (scaling, mixing, dividing, proofing, shaping, scoring, and baking).
- You will create, execute, and develop recipes, do quality checks on ingredients, and finished items.
- Ensure the food cost of the Bakery is in line with budget kitchen operating supplies, and kitchen energy costs.
- Observes sales floor and back stock conditions.
- In conjunction with the Pastry Chef establish job methods and supervise on a regular basis and correct if necessary, cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service on quality basis.
- Oversees the overall work of the bakery staff.
- Instructs and trains all bakery workers.
- Take total responsibility for properly executing all bakery functions.
- Understands the impact of departments operation on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Possess the ability to follow a production schedule and to prioritize tasks.
- Properly and safely use all equipment (Dividers, Mixers, Oven, etc.).
- Clean, restock and maintain your area and equipment.
- Must ensure that hygiene is always maintained during the baking process; and
- Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are always maintained throughout the production area.

To join our team, you’ll need:

- The ability to work shift work, early mornings & nights.
- Proven ability to produce a consistent product while meeting time deadlines.
- Ability to successfully uphold Good Breads standards of quality and consistency in all items prepared and delivered.
- Possess excellent organization and time management skills (detail oriented, goal oriented, and follow through).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- Detailed orientated and a positive attitude is a must.
- Ability to self-manage and problem solve.
- Ability to supervise, including planning and assigning work, training and disciplining.
- Ability to complete recipe calculations; and
- Must produce high quality bakery foods and demonstrate an advanced knowledge about the principles of baking, sanitation, management, retail sales/merchandising and training.
- Culinary education and/or on the job training.
- Fully responsible for all Bakery related tasks; and
- Experience baking large volume from scratch artisan bread.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

**Benefits**:

- Extended health care

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Calgary, AB T2H 0Y9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
