Classroom Assistant

Currently, the centre has a need for a person who is passionate about helping students learn the foundational knowledge and skills needed for future academic success. As a classroom assistant, you will be responsible for
- Accurate marking of classwork
- Assessing oral reading skills and model read where necessary
- Support centre operations as needed
- Help Instructor with data entry, grading, and other administrative tasks
- Provide thoughtful feedback about student's performance to the instructor in written format
- Perform other duties as required

Key qualifications include
- A passion for working with and developing young minds
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both adults and children
- High school Diploma or HS taking advanced courses (college experience with early education courses a plus)
- Desire to help children learn, and patience to work with while they develop the skills to focus and complete their work
- Excellent Math skills and a strong grasp of the English language both spoken and written. Must be able to pass a written Advanced Functions math test (without a calculator) to qualify for an interview.
