Reporting to the Nutrition Manager, the **Dietary Aide** is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring work areas are in a safe and sanitary condition, and assisting in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
**Key Responsibilities and Skills**:
- Clean/set-up the dining room for meal service.
- Serve meals to residents in a pleasant and friendly manner.
- Wash and sanitize cooking tools and small wares and deep clean all service stations.
- General kitchen duties and others, as assigned.
- Ensure standards of resident dietary services are consistently achieved.
- Ensure all MOHLTC and Public Health requirements are met.
- Has understanding and empathy for the needs of the senior population.
**Job Requirements**:
- Food Service Worker/Dietary Aide Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Management.
- Food Handler Certification.
- A Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Screening check
- The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
- Proof of full immunization against COVID-19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's _Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy_.
