**Job Description**:
WMDD is a two-year post-baccalaureate diploma program focused on web and mobile app design and development, from concept to deployment. This program encompasses visual aesthetics (including typography, colour theory, and graphics), client and server programming, user experience design, and project management. Students will choose to enter the program's designer or developer stream when they apply, although they can change their focus until the second term.

Students have a common set of courses throughout the program and specialize in one of two areas: Designer or Developer, and complete several projects, both individually and in teams. Throughout, they will produce real-world projects, develop digital portfolios, and build industry connections. The program consists of four semesters of in-class studies plus an optional semester experiential work term in which valuable industry work experience will be gained.

Students will specialize in advanced development or design. They will possess the technical and communication skills for freelance jobs, small business or corporate environments at the end of the program.

For the Winter/Spring 2024 semester, we have an opening for the following class WMDD 4970 Game Design Foundations

WMDD 4970 Game Design Foundations is a fourth term course where students learn the foundations of game design through research, analysis of different games and hands-on projects. Therefore, this class is not a ‘lecturing” type of instruction but rather a practical course.-
- Develop compelling, interactive, and industry-focused lesson plans and tailor teaching content for domestic and international audiences.- Educate students both online and/or in-person on specialized topics.- Develop innovative mechanisms to share cutting-edge technical content, engaging information about the industry, including case studies and project examples.- Develop project-based, and hands-on learning frameworks and guide students on the various technical problems encountered during the creation and implementation of industry solutions.- Work closely with EdTech and TCDC and coordinator to ensure class lessons/materials are accurate, up-to-date and communicated to students clearly and concisely.- Teaching and office hours will be mix-mode based.

Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Digital Media or a related technical field; or Bachelor’s Degree appropriate to the program plus minimum five years full time industry experience; or certification from related discipline plus minimum ten years full time industry experience;- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Post-secondary teaching experience would be an asset- Course design would be an asset- Strong understanding of game design fundamentals- The applicant that has worked in the games industry in a design-related role is preferred.- The applicant should have strong analytical skills

Length of appointment: January 1 2024 to April 30 2024 (an applicant new to the LFA employment group may be appointed as of December 1 2023 for the purpose of course preparation)
