Now, we're seeking a visionary leader to join us in our mission. As the Director of Educational Technology, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education from JK to Grade 12. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic development, implementation, and management of educational technology, programs, and resources.

What You'll Do:

- Build capacity among faculty and students to harness technology for innovative learning experiences
- Lead faculty development initiatives, fostering experimentation and innovation within our Brightspace learning management system
- Serve as the instructional lead and Department Head for Technology courses, guiding faculty to inspire and educate the next generation of tech-savvy leaders
- Collaborate closely with the Education Technology Team and Design Technicians to spearhead initiatives that elevate learning technology across the school
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the integration of technology across the school, aligning with educational goals and best practices that align with ministry expectations and changes
- Ensures the School is an education leader in its engagement with, and responsive policies and practices using Gen AI and emergent technologies
- In collaboration with others, develop a digital citizenship program and train students JK-12
- Build a program that includes access to a range of industry experts and opportunities for students to learn from
- Develop and deliver training to employees and students on a wide range of academic technological skills, through a variety of formats
- Have a data informed focus, be an expert and role model data-informed decision making
- Share with and engage parents/guardians in the exciting technology initiatives being run at the school, which may include workshops or seminars
- Management, training, oversight of Brightspace with a K-12 lens
- Liaise and collaborate with department heads (with a focus on math and science) on the integration of authentic coding experiences into curriculum
- Observe department members’ classes and provide constructive feedback and coaching for effective instruction and assessment
- Oversee the development and expansion of technology co-curricular activities such as hackathons or summer programs and the Robotics program
- Involved in the hiring, onboarding, and performance process for department employees
- Supports Marketing and Communications by organizing invitations into classes to document work
- Contribute to aspects of the scheduling and timetabling for the the Middle and Senior School

Who You Are:
- A forward-thinking leader with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning- Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate- Experience in Robotics, Coding, AI, Computer Science, Brightspace, Blockchain, VR & AR, Maker Tools all considered an asset- An advocate for faculty development, encouraging experimentation and innovation
- Proven leadership abilities that complement strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills
- Proven presentation and facilitation skills both spoken and written
- A growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning- Experienced in educational technology implementation and management, with a keen understanding of best practices
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic educational environment
