**Groundsperson | Arborist Assistant Position**

**Responsibilities**
- Ability to follow directions, procedures and standards safely and accurately
- Communicate effectively, professionally and positively with the crew and customers
- Proactive approach to the job site: problem solving skills with the ability to take initiative in executing tasks independently. Strength in watching out for small details, keeping the big picture of the job site in mind while anticipating next steps
- Maintain high safety standards
- Operate a chainsaw safely and proficiently
- Become proficient in limbing, bucking, pruning and felling a variety of trees in various situations
- Learn advanced rigging techniques
- Assisting in the operation of all tools and equipment including vehicles, trailers, chippers, chainsaws and rigging equipment
- Professional integrity - dependable and punctual

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong work ethic and follow-through to get the job done
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Physical fitness and strength with a willingness to lift, carry and drag brush and wood in a variety of terrain
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the team as well as the ability to work independently
- A valid driver’s license and ability to get to the Allec Tree Works yard

**The following are assets, but not required**
- Familiarity with use of chainsaw: basic maintenance as well as limbing, bucking trees, and felling trees
- Understanding of a variety of rigging scenarios, knots and ropework
- Ability to maneuver a trailer and equipment with a truck

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $23.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
