**Southeast Collegiate** is the only school of its kind in all of Canada. It serves as a campus to First Nations students during the school year - educating students in a beautiful school facility and providing housing in the adjoining lodge.

Reporting directly to the School Principals, the Lodge Manager is to assume responsibility for the maintenance of youth care standards through planning, organizing and directing of Lodge staff. This care is to include adequate programming in the Lodge to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the students.

**Duration**:
This position is temporary, covering the absence of the current Lodge Manager. However, there is a possibility for it to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

**Lodge Manager Duties**
- Responsible for immediate supervision and training of all lodge staff.
- Responsible for ensuring the well being of students. This includes daily communication with all staff and students, as required parental updates.
- Responsible for ensuring staff are getting students to perform daily chores as well as facilitating a work duty program for working off damages caused by students at the staff.
- Assist the Principals in student selection as well as student dismissals as required.
- Communicates with Lodge counsellors regarding student meetings, as well as parental involvement.
- Responsible for ensuring Recreation Coordinator is providing activities suited to students on a daily basis. Monitoring Recreation Calendar as well as funds associated with this function.
- Ensures that the medical supplies are adequately stocked on male and female side to meet the student’s needs.
- Ensures that the medication procedures are being adhered to and that all staff are completing the tasks as assigned.
- Ensures that the office supply list is signed off before it is given to the school administrative assistant, as you are accountable for the budget in this area.
- Responsible for providing staff with student information forms and parent’s instructions and updates as they become available.
- Responsible for Lodge Inventory and inventory maintenance.
- Responsible for rooming charts and updates as required.
- As required, to attend disciplinary meetings with the team, to create behavior modification plans for students who are not meeting the expectations of Southeast College.
- Seek outside sources for cultural support.
- Interact with external officials as required
- Ensure full support/co-ordination of activities with SERDC

**Other Duties**
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels to meet student population
- Responsible for Bi Weekly Scheduling of staff
- Responsible for Overtime reporting
- In assistance with the Management team, conducts interviews.
- Responsible for holding regular staff meetings, and taking appropriate minutes, and uploading to Docushare.
- Responsible for employee evaluations as required by the strategic plan.
- Approval of all time off requests as submitted by employees
- Ensures that all documentation that is related to employees is given to Human Resources for record keeping.
- Ensures that an adequate number of staff are certified in First aid training and that the certification is valid.
- Liaison to parents and community members as required
- If requested by Principal travel to communities to build on relationships
- Professional Development for Lodge staff planned during the course of the year and during down time
- Updates Lodge Handbook and policies and procedure guides as required.

**Qualifications**
- Experience with Aboriginal youth and youth programming
- Human resource and management skills required
- Excellent computer skills
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Community involvement
- Willing to be certified in First Aid/ CPR
- Willing to obtain Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry

**Pay**: annual salary starting at $52,000, depending on management experience

**Employees with treaty status under the Indian Act are exempt from federal income tax at SEC.**
