Construction Labourer

Baylink Networks is a family-owned marine fibre optic design/build construction company working on the amazing Connected Coast project along the coast of BC. We are searching for construction labourers, to add to our casual pool to support our construction team on Vancouver Island.

Work is scheduled for early March.

The position will include a variety of tasks, so we are looking for flexible, motivated workers willing to learn a variety of new skills and help wherever needed. This position will be a mix of general labour and construction work in-field, working at remote sites along the coast of British Columbia with our dynamic marine fibre optic construction team.

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- General construction duties on-site/in-field.
- Onsite safety and hazard reporting.
- General clean-up and organization of sites.
- Assisting with cable lay, as needed.
- Assisting with field reports, as needed.
- General clean-up and organization in the warehouse.
- Assist with assembling/building parts.
- Shipping and Receiving tasks, including inventory counts and unloading materials to warehouse and construction sites.
- This position will include outdoor fieldwork in remote locations along the coast of British Columbia.
- Potential for procurement support, including driving to various locations to pick up supplies/materials.
- Other miscellaneous tasks as requested by the Marine Ops or Field Ops managers.
- Opportunities to learn fibre splicing and cable laying in marine environments.
- Driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract and availability for travel within BC.
- Motivated self-starter who is keen to learn new skills and jump in wherever needed.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision but is also a team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- A dynamic individual who is interested in taking on a variety of tasks and learning all aspects of the fibre optic field.
- First Aid training is considered an asset.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will be required upon hire.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
