**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the successful Cardiac Electrophysiology Technician will work in collaboration with the inter-professional team in the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and quality patient care.

Accountabilities:

- Participation with implantation of devices and running analyzer software including assessment of lead position and function in the operating room
- Assessing the following at routine visits as well as on remote monitoring: troubleshooting of intra-cardiac electrograms, evaluation of the data retrieved from the cardiac rhythm device, arrhythmia report, battery life, lead function and alerting the physician of concerns identified

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of a recognized cardiology technician program
- Current registration with Cardiology Technologists Association of Ontario/Canadian Association of Cardiology Technologists required
- Must be familiar with contemporary pacing practices and be able to respond to emergency situations appropriately (i.e. pacemaker/ICD/CRT functions, clinical indications, follow-up and lead malfunctions)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- IBHRE certification an asset
- Minimum one to two years experience with pacemaker interrogation, analysis and adjustments preferred
- Previous experience with pacemaker and defibrillator programming preferred or successful completion of undergraduate program with pacemaker and ICD in curriculum
- Previous experience and knowledge of PM/ICD/CRT algorithms
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
- Ability to work full shift wearing mask and lead aprons
- Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively as a team member
- Ability to work as an autonomous professional
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment/stressful conditions
- Ability to meet patient care needs
- Commitment to continuing education to ensure maintenance of competencies and current best practice in device management
- Knowledge of hospital emergency codes and procedure
