**The Role**: Associate - Structured Finance Ratings - Nontraditional

**The Team**: The team provides and monitors credit ratings and opinions for securitizations backed by a wide variety of nontraditional assets, including aircraft, container, railcar, NNN, and other lease-based products, corporate securitizations, small business, solar, and timeshare loans, among others.

**Responsibilities**:
Understand the financial market and be able to use and understand financial models for various types of ABS and Esoteric Assets transactions securitizations.

Analyze credit and cash flow characteristics of collateral pools. Review third-party model output and reconcile with cash flow results from internal models.

Conduct detailed reviews of legal and operating documents to ensure compliance with criteria and identify issues with the transaction structure. Provide comments to external parties.

Actively manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors. Effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures. Participate in client meetings.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis by helping to resolve clients’ analytical questions.

Leverage quantitative and qualitative skillset to work on special projects such as building data analytics capabilities across Structured Finance, utilizing lean management principles to optimize processes, and developing next-generation analytical tools as directed by the analytical team manager.

**What We’re Looking For**:
**Basic Qualifications**:
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant work experience.

Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Experience with cash flow modeling.

Understanding of financial markets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent research skills.

Ability to analyze and solve non-routine problems with ingenuity in a timely and insightful manner.

Project management skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines under time pressure.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team.

Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance or economics (Master’s degree or CFA is desirable.)

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Master’s degree or CFA Charterholder

**Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only)**:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,700 to $170,400.
Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

**Grade level**: 11 (for internal purposes)

**U.S. Locations**: Dallas, TX | New York, NY | Chicago, IL | Centennial, CO

**Canadian Locations**: Toronto, ON

This role is limited to persons with the indefinite right to work in the United States for U.S. applicants and the indefinite right to work in Canada for Canadian applicants.
