**Terms**:

- Start date: ~ May 15, 2023
- Year-round, 40 hours per week, will require some seasonal flexibility, weekends and evenings.
- Hourly wage: $22-$24, based on experience and education.
- Position requires successful applicant to have a local presence, personal vehicle and local area residence.
- Position includes a cell phone allowance, laptop and shared office space.
- Health benefits after three-month probation is successfully completed.
- Season ski pass to Fernie Alpine Resort and a season Nordic ski pass with Fernie Nordic Society will be provided at the start of the 23/24 ski season to support content creation/acquisition efforts for Tourism Fernie, but also as an employment benefit.

**About Tourism Fernie**:
Tourism Fernie is a non-profit society established in 2007 with the purpose of executing effective tourism marketing, programs and projects that sustainably increase and manage local tourism revenue, visitation and economic benefits for Fernie and surrounding area. Tourism Fernie offices are located at 102 Commerce Road, also home to the Fernie Chamber of Commerce & Fernie Visitor Centre.

**Responsibilities**:
**Content & Social Media: (~ 60%)**
- Coordinate, plan, curate and post engaging content for all Tourism Fernie social media platforms and other relevant partner sites.
- Develop a social media/content calendar with support and approval from the Marketing Manager.
- Creating, editing and posting/distributing of written, video, and photo content.
- Attend local events, visit local businesses, experiences and more in order to produce social media content as per the social media/content calendar and update website content.
- Maintain unified brand voice across social media channels. Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
- Review and update website content in a coordinated process with the team.
- Stay abreast of social media and content trends, ideas to help keep Tourism Fernie innovative and relevant under the guidance of the broader Strategic Plan.
- Review digital analytics and create monthly reports on key metrics.
- Assist in the development of an annual social media, content, website and digital marketing strategy.

**Digital Marketing Campaigns: (~30%)**
- Plan, build, coordinate and execute effective and results-driven seasonal and experience-based paid ad campaigns primarily with Google & Meta Ads, including Google Ad Grants program.
- Conversion tracking, event and goal set up, audience creation & management.
- Track campaign progress, optimize and measure results to inform future campaign tactics.
- Report and analyze ad data and cross-analyze with data in Google Analytics to provide key insights and recommendations on campaign performance.

**Other: (~10%)**
- Coordinate the Digital Asset Management system.
- Assist the Marketing Manager & the Executive Officer on other marketing and destination tasks and projects where needed.

**Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Requirements**:

- Proficiency with major social media platforms and Google’s digital advertising platforms.
- Proven work related experience with building ad campaigns on Google & Meta.
- Proficiency with social media analytics and Google Analytics.
- Proven work related experience in managing and posting quality content social media channels.
- Experience with capturing quality short-form video (reels/stories) and photos, including editing tools and digital media formats.
- Excellent communication skills, social listening skills and ability to engage the audience in a professional manner.
- Experience in quality copywriting and copy editing skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, work in a team environment and is self-driven..
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to keep organized and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- High level of comfort and professionalism communicating and working with local member businesses and organizations including resorts, accommodators and community groups to capture content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Photoshop & Acrobat and back-end website updating of content.
- Ability to ski/snowboard is a must.
- Must have Canadian permanent residency or citizenship.
