**REPORTS TO**: General Manager
**DIRECT REPORTS**: welders, pipefitters, labourers
**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the General Manager, The Piping Superintendent will be responsible for managing all aspects of piping projects, from planning and design to execution and completion, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in piping systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively between various teams and stakeholders.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:Project Management**:

- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of piping projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate project activities with internal teams, clients, and external contractors.

**Design and Specification Review**:

- Review and approve piping system designs, specifications, and material selections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

**Team Leadership**:

- Lead and manage a team, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development opportunities for team members.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce strict safety protocols and standards on all projects, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize risks.
- Ensure all piping projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

**Budget and Cost Management**:

- Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability.

**Client and Stakeholder Communication**:

- Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes in scope promptly.

**Quality Assurance**:

- Implement quality control procedures for piping projects, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds project specifications and quality expectations.
- Oversee the inspection and testing of piping systems to ensure reliability and functionality.

Safety and Compliance
- Inspect and monitor work areas, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Ensure that workers are trained and competent in the tasks they are to undertake.
- Enforce hazard controls.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Take every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of yourself and any other workers.

**PREFERRED/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in piping design, engineering, and project management.
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of piping systems, materials, and industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API).
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on motivating and developing employees.
- Proficient in the use of CAD software and project management tools.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, team members, and external partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges proactively and make informed decisions.
- Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
