Scale Personnel

Job purpose

Responsible for the operation of scales and related equipment in weighing and recording the weight of materials brought to the scale by trucks. Work includes preparing and maintaining daily records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Weighing trucks

Collecting and reviewing manifests

Recording all information in a computerized weighing system

Running reports

Sampling inbound materials

Filing

Keeping accurate and updated records

Maintain a safe, organized working environment

Calculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight

Job Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience

Ability read precise measurements

Be able to work independently, with mínimal supervision

Moderate computer proficiency

Basic math skills

Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment

Experience reading, understanding and working with manifests

Experience with radio communications
