Job Summary:
Responsibilities:Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the menu and customer preferences.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and hygienic manner.
- Assist in menu planning and development, including creating new recipes and seasonal specials.
Kitchen Management:
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food preparation and storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Oversee the proper handling, storage, and use of all food products.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all dishes meet the company's standards for taste, presentation, and quality.
- Monitor food safety standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
- Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff as needed.
- Foster a positive and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a reputable restaurant or culinary establishment.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
**Skills**:
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for food.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
- Food Handler Certification or equivalent is required.
- Red Seal certification (for chefs) is preferred but not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items may be required.
- Exposure to heat, steam, and potentially hazardous equipment.
