**Nupqu Development Corporation **is a rapidly-growing business, proudly owned by member bands of the Ktunaxa Nation since 2009. With offices in Cranbrook, Castlegar and Fernie, BC, Nupqu conducts a wide variety of work: providing forestry, environmental, contract administration and general labour related consulting services to a number of clients throughout the Ktunaxa Traditional Territory. We are currently seeking highly motivated, organized and responsible individuals to join our team in a dynamic and rewarding environment poised for significant growth.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Undertake surface and ground water sampling, waste/soil sampling, vegetation identification and management;
- Coordinate waste/soil movement and treatment;
- Equipment calibration (YSI, Flow Meter, Ground Water Equipment)
- Perform maintenance tasks, cleaning, sweeping, shovelling.
- Assist with fish salvage, bird/wildlife surveys, environmental inspections;
- Carry out time tracking and equipment inspections as required;
- Provide professional and technical support for preparation of Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Protection Plans, Technical Reports, Health and Safety Plans, etc.;
- Support West Kootenay based projects across divisions, as required;
- Competent using various computer programs, imputing and managing data (MS Office - Excel and Word);
- Ability to safely climb utility poles would be considered an asset.
- Proven oral and written interpersonal communication skills;
- Self-motivated and safety-oriented team player.

**Qualifications**

Preference will be given to applicants with:

- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in environmental sciences preferred, technical diploma would be considered pending field/work experience, training etc; (Geography, Biology, Forestry, Environmental Sciences);
- Previous work experience in Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Field Assessments, Forestry Surveys, and Technical Report Writing is an asset;
- Working knowledge of wildlife and vegetation management (birds, herptiles, badgers, fish, white bark pine etc) and general plant Identification;
- Mine and mine driving experience preferred, ability to work in remote locations and be able to communicate effectively;
- Proven safety track record & experience driving on resource roads;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and with a clean driving record;
- OFA level 1
- UTV/ATV certification

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
