**Qualifications**:

- Degree or Diploma in Recreation with experience in a long term care setting

OR
- Diploma in related field with completion of a course in adapted programming and experience in long term care

Technical Competencies

Complaint Resolution, Public Relations, Long Term Care Industry, CQI Principles, Project Management Principles, Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Facilitation Skills

Experience

1-2 years experience preferably in a long-term care setting.

Experience in assessing activation needs, development, implementation and evaluation of activation programmes

Occupational Health and Safety Accountabilities
- Carry out all assigned duties in compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Company policy.
- Follow safe work practices as directed by their supervisor and as required by the applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Participate in all required occupational health and safety training.
- Use appropriate equipment and wear personal protective equipment or clothing, as required by Extendicare/ParaMed.
- Report any known or identified health and safety hazards or violations to their supervisor.
- Refrain from any conduct that puts themselves, workers, contractors or others at risk.
