**30.1 Reports to Tool Room Manager**
**30.2 Duties and Responsibilities**
**30.2.1 Occupational Health and Safety**
(a) Report all incidents, accidents and/or hazards.
(b) Participate and/or cooperate with the JHSC to improve safety.
(c) Wear personal protective equipment as required.
(d) Adhere to Lockout procedures.
(e) Perform housekeeping activities as required.
(f) Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) particularly the “Duties of Workers” as stated in Section 28.
(g) Comply with the Workplace Safety Insurance Act (WSI Act).
(h) Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
(i) Comply with Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures of The Vinyl Company.
**30.2.2 Employee Relations**
(a) Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required.
(b) Perform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirements.
(c) Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
(d) Comply with Rules of Personal Conduct.
(e) Provide and/or participate in training as required.
(f) Comply with company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Relations Manual and/or Employee Handbook.
**30.2.4 Environmental Health and Safety**
(a) Adhere to environmental policies and procedures.
(b) Comply with recycling program.
(c) Comply with disposal/waste management program.
**30.3 Job Requirements**
**30.3.1 Order Processing**
(a) Review work order assigned by supervisor, and special instructions
**30.3.2 Fabrication**
(a) Prepare materials needed
(b) Cut material to designated size of die
(c) Grind die using the Grinder
(d) Square sides of die with milling machine
(e) Scribe or spot using CNC, starting points for dies and vacuum blocks
(f) Drill holes into die or vacuum blocks for EDM wire.
**30.3.3 EDM**
(a) Load EDM machine
(b) Create/Load program, received from CAD Operator
(c) Do graphics check.
(d) Do program checks as required
(e) Monitor computer/EDM machine
(f) Remove all slugs and dispose in appropriate bin
(g) Visual check material for damage/nonconformities.
**30.3.4 Quality Control**
(a) Use caliper
(b) Compare part to drawing
(c) Perform water test
**30.3.5 Inventory**
(a) Catalogue inventory
(b) Store inventory in appropriate location
**30.3.6 Maintenance**
(a) Troubleshoot machine problems.
(b) If special skills are required to correct mechanical concerns, contact supervisor.
**30.3.7 Inventory**
(a) Store die in appropriate location for Supervisor to check
(b) Review inventory and request material and supplies
(c) Review delivery slip with incoming material and supplies and store in designated area.
**30.3.8 Housekeeping**
(a) Keep work area and EDM machine clean
(b) Place scrap material in designated material bins.
**30.3.9 Training**
(a) Conduct training of other employees as assigned
**30.3.10 Other Duties**
(a) Help vacuum assembler as required
(b) Help Die Assembler as required
(c) Perform any duties as assigned by your supervisor
**30.4 Skills and Abilities**
(a) Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
(b) Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
