Fabricator/helper

Lockdoor Canada is an architectural door and hardware distributor based in Waterloo, Ontario.. We serve general contractors, property managers and end users through central western Ontario.

Our product line includes, wood, hollow metal and aluminum doors with mechanical and electronic locks, automatic door operators, closers, exit devices and security hardware. We require an entry level fabricator/helper to start in our hollow metal door and frame shop.

Job Skills taught
- receive and stock hollow metal components and doors
- prep frames and weld in hardware strikes and anchors
- prep doors for locks, deadbolts and exit devices
- install lite kits and louvres
- prepare finished goods for shipping
- assist with field installations and repairs

Job Requirements
- previous school, work or personal experience with power tools
- can layout, measure and cut out light gauge steel
- can work in both imperial and metric measurements
- keeps a neat, organized work space; cares for tools
- has a work history that shows commitment and progress.
- Fall Protection & WHMIS Certificates (preferred)

This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of metal shop work, weld light gauge steel, fabricate from shop drawings and templates and discover the tricks of our trade

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7;30am to 4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am 4:00 pm.
Hourly wage: $18 - $19

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
