Why this job is important:
Do you like to think outside the box while working in an agile work setting? Reporting to the Loss Prevention Manager, the Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for nationwide field support and helps to manage business risk through customer onboarding, audits, and investigations. You will play a key role in identifying abnormal trends that may lead to unfavorable results. This role requires heightened attention to detail skills, and a strong sense of urgency working in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do
- Qualify new activations by verifying customer identity, validating mobile plans, reviewing subsidy information and ensuring correct processes are followed.
- Supporting stores with complex transactions.
- Perform post transaction audits in POS system and carrier portals to identify irregularities and ensure process compliance.
- Retrieve, analyze, and interpret large volumes of complex data to clearly summarize results and issues.
- Make recommendations for process enhancements.
- Assist with investigations into instance of internal and external fraud, theft, and policy violations.
- Assist with creating/updating Loss Prevention policies & procedures.
- Assist with help desk inquiries.
- Remain current with trends, regulatory requirements and business strategies.
- Special projects and responsibilities, as assigned.

What you’ll need
- College diploma or University degree is required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience preferably in the telecommunications industry with a focus in compliance and risk.
- Clear, concise, and confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly identify, diagnose and propose solutions as problems arise.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products; specifically, Power Automate, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts and weekends.
- Wicklander
- Zulawski certification is an asset.
- Strong understanding of RQ point of sale system is an asset.
