**Position**:
The
**Seniors Programs Manager**oversees the day-to-day operations of the seniors’ department, including managing a team of staff and volunteers, in accordance with the goals and objectives of the department and the organization. The Seniors Programs Manager is directly responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating overall program quality and success to ensure the senior’s department is serving the needs of seniors in our community so they can
_live life better_.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the overall creation and maintenance of appropriate and innovative programs and services for seniors in the Seymour/Deep Cove area, ensuring systems are in place to support current and new programming that meets community needs.
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards, guidelines, policies, and all licensing requirements.
- Supervise program staff and manage all staff-related duties such as hiring, training, motivating, scheduling, disciplining, and reviewing performance levels.
- Assist with the creation of the department budget and manage all revenue and expenses to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Ensure accurate reporting mechanisms are in place to meet governance and funding requirements, and the maintenance and confidentiality of all client records.
- Maintain connections with other service providers and community tables in the area to exchange information on current best practices, programming trends, recurring needs and gaps in services, local events, and training workshops.
- Work with NVRC staff to schedule programs, book program space, room set-up and maintenance.
- Assist with the creation of funding proposals and keep apprised of any up-coming funding opportunities.
- Promote Society programs and services for seniors in the community.
- Work with Community Engagement Manager to ensure Society website and social media posts are current.
- Maintain relationships with current funding partners and look for opportunities to create new funding and operational partnerships.
- Create and manage fundraising activities including events, raffles, silent auctions and 50/50 draws.
- Other duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the program.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience managing senior’s programs and services in a community-based organization, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in this field.
- Ability to manage a small team comprised of both staff and volunteers.
- Ability to work effectively with other not-for-profit agencies, service clubs, and funding bodies including foundations, government, and corporate sponsors.
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, general management, and team building skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to function independently and frequently under pressure while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines including effectively managing emergencies.
- Program delivery activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to effectively carry out duties of the position

**Other Requirements**:

- Food Safe Certification.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Valid safety oriented first-aid certificate.

This is a Temporary Full Time Position to fill in for the current manager's Maternity Leave, 35 hours per week.
