Security Guard

**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for securing the Aphria Diamond facility and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and controlling entry. Security personnel prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Patrol assigned area on foot
- Ensure people, buildings and equipment are secure
- Observe and report irregularities, incidents, safety hazards, security breaches, etc.
- Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment
- Control access to property and facility through the admittance process
- Use of two-way radio and related equipment for communicating activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in law enforcement, police foundations, criminology, or related field of study preferred
- One year experience in a security role preferred
- Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License and/or Private Investigator License
- Must possess an Ontario Drivers License.
- Must be able and willing to work a variety of shifts (days, nights, weekends), including 12-hour shifts
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk and/or drive for extended periods of time
- The successful applicant(s) will be asked to provide a current general police clearance.

**Salary**: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
