Detailed Overview: In accordance with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC) standards of practice, Fraser Health mission, values and audiology acute care standard, and working collaboratively and in partnership with the Manager, clinical leaders, stakeholders and the interprofessional care team in the provision of patient and family centered care, the Clinical Practice Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating audiology services for the assigned site. Supervises and provides clinical practice leadership to audiologists and designated staff, coordinates work assignments, oversees quality and safety activities, evaluates performance, determines training/orientation needs, recruits staff, oversees budget for the service, and participates in budget and service planning. Contributes to the development of the audiology profession through approved practice council and site/regional committee participation. Carries a clinical caseload as required. Responsibilities:

- Coordinates the audiology service for the site; monitors, evaluates and coordinates the effective distribution of resources ensuring the delivery of quality patient and family centered care.
- Provides clinical practice leadership by providing guidance, support, technical advice and acting as a clinical resource to staff; formulates objectives, standards, processes and procedures in consultation with program and allied health leaders and relevant interprofessional team members. Identifies and prioritizes practice issues and education needs; develops, implements and evaluates orientation and educational programs for staff; organizes inservice education programs.
- Ensures clinical practice, regulatory, accreditation, and Fraser Health audiology acute care standards are met, communicated, understood, and monitored. Develops implements and evaluates clinical practice reference manuals, policies and procedures.
- Supervises designated staff by coordinating work assignments and schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage, adjusting schedules according to workload and service needs and facilitating resolutions to work issues. Receives and responds to vacation and leaves of absence requests and processes payroll as required. Receives requests for education and reviews and approves in consultation with the Manager. Identifies staffing needs; interviews and selects staff, or provides clinical input into the hiring of new staff, assessing clinical skill and competence.
- Writes, conducts and signs performance appraisals. Supports staff in their professional development and learning needs. Reviews individual clinical practice and/or other performance concerns with staff when required and refers issues requiring disciplinary action to the Manager.
- Develops, implements and monitors quality and safety activities; evaluates changes in patient and family centered practice and takes corrective action as appropriate. Maintains awareness of new approaches and recommends evidence-based changes to policies, procedures, and the Fraser Health audiology acute care standard that could benefit patient care and service delivery.
