**STRATEGIC PLANNING LEAD, MINING**

The **Strategic Planning Lead, Mining** will work collaboratively with the mining and project teams to conduct organizational reviews that identify opportunities to achieve strategic long term objectives. The incumbent is responsible for the portfolio of studies and projects that will enable Côté Gold’s mining operations to achieve IAMGOLD’s strategic objectives. The Mine Strategic Planning Lead makes recommendations based on emerging trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, viability of outside business partners, and internal business process improvement.

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Manage the portfolio of mining studies and projects to achieve IAMGOLD’s strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the mining team and its stakeholders to assess the mine’s mid and long range plans, and the ability to deliver on IAMGOLD’s strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the mining team and its stakeholders to identify the portfolio of studies/projects (operating and capital) that will enable Côté Gold to achieve IAMGOLD’s strategic objectives.
- Manage the portfolio of studies/projects (operating and capital) to ensure continued alignment with strategic priorities.
- Support mine leadership team in monitoring the scope, quality, schedule and cost of the technical and operational study/project portfolio, including working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to review and assure delivery of all major strategy, technical and operational project deliverables and milestones.
- Coach and mentor various collaborators within Côté Gold to successfully plan, coordinate and implement projects.
- Establish project planning and implementation standards to determine the resources and schedule required to deliver strategies.
- Facilitate a process to allocate budget and human resources to the portfolio, including managing dependencies between strategic resources.
- Establish and oversee strategy and project change control processes to ensure continued alignment.
- Manage creation and maintenance of project scope documents to ensure effective planning that defines and manage risks, performance, roles, resources, communications, and quality.

Area 2:
Model and optimize strategic/long term mine plan.
- Model and optimize the mine plan with current and future metal prices.
- Calculate the annual cut-off grades for the life of the mine for all processes.
- Model and find optimum timing and size for secondary processes.
- Model and select the optimum time for plant expansions, maintenance and close of mine.

Area 3:
Evaluate external and internal influences.
- Assess mid and long term projects and improvement initiatives, based on internal and external factors to minimize risks, in addition to formulating plans to achieve the mine’s strategic and long-term goals.
- Analyze current mine performance and work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct market research, benchmark other operations, analyze emerging industry trends, identify expansion opportunities and competitive threats, evaluate the viability of outside business partners and recommend any improvements or development opportunities to mine leadership team.
- Recommend improvements using data analytics and sound logic.
- Prepare reports on strategy for Mine Manager and other senior management.
- Present research findings to Mine Manager and senior management.

Area 4:
Manage resource and reserve update processes.
- Work with the Mine Technical Services team to ensure timely and quality completion of Mineral Resource and Reserve Updates on an annual basis and as needed.
- Manage completion of any updates to the NI43-101 technical report for Côté Gold.
- Identify opportunities related to mineral resource, reserve increases and optimizations, recommend actions to maximize results from these opportunities and where necessary, integrate these actions into the mid and long range plans.
- Co-ordinate with Corporate Tech Services on Annual Information Form (AIF) completion and any other compliance requirements.

Area 5:
Participate in annual life of mine and budget process.
- Review annual mine production and cost performance metrics and adjust any inputs to the Life of Mine (LOM) and budget models as required.
- Work with mining team and other Côté Gold stakeholders (finance etc) to ensure timely and quality completion of Life of Mine plan.
- Co-ordinate with mining team and other Côté stakeholders (finance etc) to complete mine production plans, cost estimates and other inputs required for the annual IAMGOLD budget cycle.
- Manage completion of any updates to the Côté capital expenditure plans, staffing plans and any other planning inputs required for completion of the annual budgets.
