**Maître d’Hôtel with Knowledge in Wines/Sommelier**

As we continue to expand our presence in Kanata, Ontario, we are in search of an accomplished Maître d'Hôtel to join our team.
**Position Overview**:
As the Maître d'Hôtel at Chez Lionel, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of our dining room.
Your leadership and guidance will be essential in delivering impeccable service and maintaining our high standards of hospitality.
**Service Excellence**:
- Ensure that every guest receives personalized attention and enjoys a memorable dining experience.
- Collaborate with the general manager to establish and enforce service standards and procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the dining room operations, including seating arrangements, reservation management, and coordination between the front and back of house.
- Offering active support and continuous feedback to maintain high standards of service and culinary quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, actively seeking feedback and addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
**HR/Management/Staff Development**:
- Assist the manager in human resource management, including recruitment, training, and supervision of the dining room staff to ensure high-quality service where standards of quality and service are upheld.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to the dining room staff, sharing your culinary knowledge and expertise in wine and spirits.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment where team members are empowered to excel and grow professionally.
**Facility Optimization**:
- Optimize the use of our facilities to maximize profitability, coordinating reservations and ensuring efficient seating arrangements.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the front and back of house.
- Contribute to financial resource management, ensuring optimization of operational costs and profitability of the dining room.
**Communication Management**:
- Manage internal communications to facilitate smooth coordination between the dining room and kitchen teams.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with guests, handling inquiries and resolving any issues to their satisfaction.
**Promotion and Marketing**:
- Actively participate in promotional initiatives, special events, and local partnerships to promote the restaurant and enhance its visibility in the community.
- Engage with guests to promote our wine selection and offer expert advice on food and wine pairings.
**Wine List Management**
- Develop and maintain a private import wine list in collaboration with suppliers.
- Advise customers on food and wine pairings by sharing your in-depth sommelier knowledge.
- Organize wine tastings and special events to promote our wine selection.
- Manage the wine cellar.
**Profile Requirements**:
- Passionate and Detail-Oriented: Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and culinary experiences.
- Significant experience (10+years) in restaurant management, with a strong background in sommelier and wine knowledge.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Personal Qualities: Dynamic, creative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and inspire a team with empathy and professionalism.
- Experience in catering/hospitality services and events management is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of Maitre D and Libro required
- Solid skills in stock and order management
