Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Utilityman to join our team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Report to the supervisor daily; following detailed work plans, safe work practices, and procedures
- Complete production reporting and other documentation as required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition
- Follow all site, company and client specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures
- Assist the hooktender in the back end
**Position Requirements**:
- Situational awareness at all times
- Competently identify danger trees and determine safe methods of yarding the wood to the roadside
- Can identify the most efficient and effective strategy for yarding the wood to the roadside
- Hazard awareness knowledge and understanding
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years of utilityman experience and good knowledge of coastal species
- Level 1 F/A
Experience in steep slope logging operations
Pay: From $40.78 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cowichan Lake, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Grapple Yarder Operator: 5 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 6 Driver's License (required)
- Level 1 F/A (preferred)
