**Description**

Job Objectives:
To provide technical and clerical support to Underwriters in the Property department. The Assistant will help with day to day underwriting activities in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the underwriters and our brokers in the underwriting and

documentation process.
- Communicate successfully with underwriters and brokers for verification and qualification of information and to request information required to be part of the underwriting file
- Setup files for new and renewal submissions/accounts
- Communicate with Accounting to resolve queries and discrepancies
- Complete Catastrophe Modeling requests to utilize in AW Pricing Tool
- Update Rate Change reports
- Enter reinsurance placement data into eRe platform
- Become proficient in DRAGON, our new underwriting system, to quote, bind and book accounts.
- Request internal Loss Runs
- Support Underwriting staff in issuing quotes, binders, invoices and endorsements, setting up files.
- Assist in policy wording preparation and policy review.
- Review account files to ensure they are accurate and auditable.
- Work on special projects as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Requirements**:

- Preferably 2-3 years’ experience in the insurance industry
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties.
