Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor

Toronto, Canada The Body Engineers Full time

**Job Type**: Independent Contractor position with potential for part-time or full-time employment down the road.

**Job Location**: The Body Engineers, 36 Sousa Mendes Street, Toronto, ON, M6P 0B2

**Salary**: $35.00-50.00 / hr depending on your experience level.

**Availability**: Either or both, early mornings (6 or 6:30 to 1 or 2pm) or evenings (2-8pm) during the week and ideally one day on the weekend (ideally 9am to 2pm).

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Coach and instruct personal training and partner training sessions on a weekly basis with clients that are provided to you.
- Deliver well organized and structured small group classes with a maximum of 10 members per one-hour session (class program will be provided for you or you will have the opportunity to help with the program design).
- Keep client files up to date and log progress.
- Assist in the sale of products and services, if you wish (you will be paid commission for each sale).

**Other non-essential items**:

- 2+ years’ experience in personal training is an asset but not necessary.
- Degree or diploma in Health and Fitness or Kinesiology is an asset.
- Experience training clients with injuries and/or dysfunction is an asset.
- Knowledgeable in anatomy is an asset.

**Selection Process**
- A covering letter explaining why you would be a good fit for the company
- An up-to-date resume

**Stage 4**: After completing stage 3, you will be asked to coach an in-person demo personal training session at our facility. During this stage we will provide a client for you, and you will take them through a 45-minute workout to demonstrate your interpersonal, coaching, and cueing skills. This will be followed by a 30-to-45-minute interview.

**Stage 5** (if necessary): For the final stage, if required, you will be asked to assist coaching one of our group classes, under the supervision of one of our personal trainers. This will be to test how well you perform in a group class setting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
