**Job Description**:
The **Consultant for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)** will work alongside the Director for DEIB and Volunteer Resources to support the DEIB strategy and collaborate with partners to ensure DEIB principles are embedded within our day to day operations and culture. The strategy is geared towards cultivating a culture of belonging for all of TEAM RVH and the community served. The consultant will support the development and implementation of actions listed in the strategy, by partnering with staff, leadership, physicians, and external partners. This role drives change and results in the organization by raising awareness, providing education, and mobilizing partners toward meaningful change that is rooted in our values.

**Education**:
I. Bachelor’s Degree that may include, but is not limited to Social Work, Equity Studies, Public Policy & Administration, Law, Business, Human Resources, Education and/or relevant experience with the responsibilities of this role
II. Master’s Degree is considered an asset
III. Certification and/or enrolment of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program with an organization such as Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion preferred

**Experience**:
I. Minimum of three to five years’ experience researching, developing, managing and implementing DEIB, health equity and/or Human Rights programs and strategies
II. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Anti-racism Act
III. Demonstrated experience influencing positive culture change in the field of DEIB health equity and/or Human Rights programs and strategies
IV. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write briefing notes, reports, organizational communications, presentations and create learning materials to support programs
V. Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, facilitating organizational change and transition, team or group dynamics, organizational assessments and learning
VI. Comprehensive background knowledge of current DEIB issues, including social, political, cultural, spiritual, health and economic history, challenges and opportunities, and systemic barriers to inclusion
VII. Takes initiative, works proactively, coordinates and manages projects with multiple partners in a complex environment VIII. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage leadership and build consensus at all levels as well as navigate through a large and complex organization is an asset
IX. Experience in working with outcome metrics as a means of evaluation
X. Skilled at attending to matters that require sensitivity and empathy across a diverse population
XI. Demonstrated ability to partner across the Healthcare Centre to drive change
XII. Project Management experience an asset
XIII. Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred

IX. Strong time management, planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

X. Strong analytical skills sets with the ability to interpret data to tell a story and identify risks and mitigation strategies

XI. Facilitation, conflict resolution and supportive listening skills

XII. Demonstrated ability to advocate for others

XIII. Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation such as the Employment Standards Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act, with a strong understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario’s Human Rights Code, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and related legislation.

XIV. Change management and project management skills
