TEMPORARY FULL-TIME TECHNOLOGY SERVICES / MUSKOKA EDUCATION CENTRE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

This temporary full-time (12 month) position is available immediately, for an indefinite period of time, not longer than January 31, 2025. This position reports to the Superintendent of Learning responsible for Technology Services.
Opportunity to be added to our Secretary Supply List after the completion of the contract.
**Duties of the Position include**:
Act as a receptionist for the Muskoka Education Centre;
Maintain the peripheral lists and technology lists on Our Dock for school staff access;
Technology equipment and services purchase order management (preparation, receiving, checking goods, and follow up with invoice receipts);
School technology purchasing contact;
Technology parts inventory management for repair / ordering;
Provide clerical support to the Technology Services Department;
Manage professional development and meeting requests (booking rooms, catering of events, liaise with custodian regarding room set up, paperwork, copying, materials, staff support) for PD events taking place at the MEC across all departments;
Order and maintain office and PD supplies for the MEC (photocopy paper, postal machine management, general office supplies, napkins, cutlery, coffee, etc.);
Maintain organization of the MEC prep/workroom for MEC staff;
Preparation and mail circulation through the internal courier, royal mail and external courier services;
Handle heavy materials (supplies, deliveries, courier, materials) between the Education Centre and the storage/central filing location;
Related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications Required**:
Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus additional training courses in computer operation and software programs or an acceptable combination of formal education and experience;
Two years of related secretarial experience using current office technology;
Demonstrated computer knowledge and practical experience on multi-screen database systems.
Working knowledge of/and experience using Google Suite / Microsoft M365
A working knowledge of Atrieve software considered an asset.
Excellent data input skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with experience in the effective management of multiple projects and experience working with critical deadlines.
Personal qualities of reliability, dependability, tact and discretion.
A proven ability to work in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing skills.
Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and work effectively as a team member with staff members, parents, students and the general public both in person and on the phone.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy items (not in excess of 50 pounds).
**Hours of Work**: 35 hours/week, 7hrs per day Monday to Friday
**Hourly Wage**: $25.79 to start
**Point Band**: 8 (unionized position)
