**The start date will follow the selection process.**

This position is eligible to work remotely on a part-time basis.

**Characteristic Duties**: Under the general supervision of the Manager of Design Services.

1. Perform drafting with speed and accuracy from original source material such as design sketches.
2. Act as drafting team leader as directed; organize contract drawing requirements, check design calculations, instruct other Draftspersons, and liaise with project designers.
3. Provide recommendations relative to adequacy, accuracy and project deadlines.
4. Perform initial check of project drawings, and perform other checking duties as required.
5. Perform design work on routine engineering projects including calculations of quantities, etc.
6. Use good practical judgement in accurate calculations and interpretations of properties, legal descriptions, and field engineering records.
7. Perform graphics design and preparation of graphics material.
8. Exercise artistic ability in presentation of work.
9. Assist with the collection and conversion of infrastructure asset data obtained from engineering and surveying sources as required in support of CGS’ Asset Management Program and in accordance with life cycle processes/workflow related to enterprise systems.
10. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
11. Perform other related duties as may be required.

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education with further educational training in computer-aided-drafting/design techniques.
- Over two and one-half (2½) years up to and including five (5) years of related drafting experience.
- Knowledge of surveying and construction methods as they relate to drafting in a municipal setting.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Physical capability to operate a vehicle safely, possession of a valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record will be considered an asset.
