**Summary**:
Under the direction of the Manager of Learning Support Services, the Research Analyst is responsible for coordinating data collection, conducting statistical analyses, and reporting results of system-wide measures of student achievement and well-being to support evidence-informed decision-making at the classroom, school, and district level for the purpose of improving student learning, achievement, and well-being.

The Research Analyst coordinates the collection, analysis and reporting of student outcomes that take place on a regular cyclical basis to fulfill Ministry and Board reporting requirements, as well as partnership agreements with external agencies, and supporting large scale research and evaluation projects.

Will provide support to research and evaluation projects by designing surveys, collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources,

Prepares materials and reports in response to requests from other central departments, school staff, or the public (i.e., under the Freedom of Information Act).
- Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, statistical analysis, survey and research design.
- Research skills required to locate resources, information and materials related to research and evaluation projects from libraries and through the internet.
- Analytical skills to evaluate results of testing and surveys. Ability to learn new materials, employ statistical practices/methods and use technology without instruction.
- Organizational and time management skills to organize and prioritize work, manage multiple and concurrent demands, priorities, and projects, and manage large quantities of data. Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills to clarify and exchange information on Board policies and procedures and Ministry report requirements; understand and respond to inquiries from Board Personnel, the public and outside organizations/agencies with tact, diplomacy and discretion. Writing skills required to provide clear and concise reports.
