**Summary**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Proper machine start-up and shutdown knowledge/practices
- Knowledge and experience for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of paver auger feed and automatic grade control systems
- Operate paver and control concrete to the paver safely and efficiently to mitigate mix segregation and support of personnel to maintain required thickness and smoothness requirements
- Ability to discuss and plan daily project paving procedures/goals with fellow paving personnel to maximize productivity and workmanship
- Ensure that safety standards are met
- Check to make sure that equipment functions properly
- Clean and perform basic maintenance to equipment
- Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction-related duties as assigned, including physical labour.

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum of 3 years’ paver operator experience
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Must be physically fit - repetitive bending, lifting, kneeling, walking for long periods of time
- Problem-solving skills, timeliness, and pride in your work product are essential for success in this position
- Working in inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
- May be required to work out of town if needed
- Punctual and able to work full time, overtime, and occasional weekends.
